Savannah Basket - White and Blue

This is the beautiful original Savannah basket.

The Savannah Basket is made in Senegal by village women. It is woven with straw from the riverbank and decorated with recycled plastic.

The dimensions may vary from basket to basket as they are all handmade and unique:

NB: These have a different pattern on each size. The large has a herringbone pattern, the medium has horizontal stripes, and the small has blue free edges. See picture.

Small basket height with lid: approx. 40-45 cm

Medium : height approx. 55 cm

Large basket with lid is approximately 74 -78 cm high, and width is 52-58 cm

WE USE THE BASKET FOR;

storage of dirty laundry, empty bottles, plastic waste, paper waste, blankets, pillows, bedding, balls of yarn, dowels, gloves and mittens or shoes in the hallway. It can be used as a pot holder or just as a beautiful decorative element.

All baskets are handmade by women in Senegal, basket making is often their only source of income. The work provides school fees and food for the children.

The baskets vary slightly in appearance depending on which woman made them. A fair trade product and unique craftsmanship.
