Natural binga dish, handmade in Zimbabwe

Introduce natural materials into your interior with the use of African baskets. The Binga dishes are made by skilled artisans from the BaTonga tribe who live in the remote Binga region of Zimbabwe. The baskets are handmade from thin roots that are dyed with bark. Only natural colors are used in this traditional weaving, which is often done by grandmothers. An old craft that fits perfectly into our Nordic homes. Each dish and each basket is special, with unique patterns.

WE USE THE BINGA BARRELS FOR:

The dishes are great as decoration on the table. Fill the dish with nuts or fruit, dried autumn leaves or rose petals from your own garden are beautifully presented in a Binga dish. The dish is also suitable as an all-purpose dish on the dresser in the hallway, or by the bathtub filled with wellness products. YOUR BINGA BARREL MAKES A DIFFERENCE:

In January 2022, Savannen established a women's center in Binga. A place where women can meet, work, or simply deliver finished products. The women's center is important for creating unity and ensuring that women's income and position in the family economy are important. Income gives power. We work closely with the women and know that the money goes to those who make the baskets, fair trade in practice. Savannen does not provide emergency aid, but makes arrangements for us to do business together.
